Fire and Safety Systems

Detection and suppression treated as engineering

Fire protection works when detection, alerting, automatic response and containment are designed as one system and then maintained. We install and service that system for kitchens, gas installations, plant rooms and commercial buildings.

Safety is part of the installation

A gas installation and its safety systems are the same project. Detection, isolation and suppression are decided when the pipe route and the appliance positions are decided, because that is when it is still possible to place them properly.

Our work covers gas detection, fire detection and alarm systems, automatic suppression, extinguishers and sprinklers. We also assess and upgrade systems that were installed some time ago and no longer match how the building is used.

The equipment matters less than whether it is correctly selected, correctly positioned and actually tested. We work with the Ghana National Fire Service and the Ghana Standards Authority so installations meet the requirements that apply to the facility.

Scope of work

  • Gas detection and LPG leak detection
  • Fire detection and alarm systems
  • Automated fire suppression systems
  • Supply and installation of extinguishers and sprinklers
  • Repair and upgrading of existing fire protection systems

How a system responds

Detect, alert, respond, protect

Each stage has to work for the next one to matter. This is the sequence we design against.

Step 1

Detect

Gas detectors, smoke and heat detection pick up the condition early, at the points where a leak or an ignition source is most likely.

Step 2

Alert

The panel raises the alarm so people in the building know, and where required notifies the facility team responsible for responding.

Step 3

Respond

Automatic devices act without waiting for a person. Solenoid valves close the gas supply and suppression releases over the protected area.

Step 4

Protect

Extinguishers, sprinklers and containment limit the spread while the building is evacuated and the fire service attends.

Capabilities

What we install and maintain

Gas and LPG leak detection

Fixed detectors at storage and appliance points, wired to shut off valves so supply is isolated when a leak is picked up.

Fire detection and alarms

Detection devices, panels, sounders and call points sized and positioned for the building rather than fitted to a fixed pattern.

Automatic suppression

Suppression systems for kitchens, plant rooms and enclosed risk areas, designed around what is actually being protected.

Extinguishers and sprinklers

Supply and installation of portable extinguishers and sprinkler equipment, with the correct type selected for the risk.

Inspection and testing

Scheduled inspection, functional testing and hydrostatic testing of cylinders where it applies.

Upgrades and repair

Assessment, repair and upgrading of fire protection systems already installed but no longer reliable or no longer suited to the use of the space.

Areas we protect

Where the design changes

The risk in the space decides the detection method, the suppression agent and the coverage.

Commercial kitchens

Concentrated cooking heat, grease loaded extraction and continuous gas use. Detection and suppression are designed around the hood and cooking line.

Gas storage areas

Tank and cylinder areas need detection, ventilation and isolation so a leak is contained rather than allowed to accumulate.

Plant and electrical rooms

Enclosed spaces with equipment running unattended, where early detection and a suppression method that suits electrical risk matter.

Commercial buildings

Offices, retail and hospitality space where alarm coverage, extinguisher provision and evacuation planning are the priority.

Maintenance

A system is only as good as its last test

Semi annual inspection, functional testing and hydrostatic testing where applicable are what confirm a system will operate. We schedule this work rather than wait for a client to request it.
When a building changes use, adds appliances or reconfigures a kitchen, the protection needs to be reviewed. We reassess coverage as part of maintenance visits.
